Quinoa is a grain rich in fiber, iron and protein.

It’s commonly used as a meat substitute in vegetarian or vegan meals, but it can also be a great way to cut back on meat in your grocery bill as it’s filling and a little bit goes a long way.

Foods high in fiber are probably best known for relieving constipation. But foods containing fiber can also help maintain a healthy weight and lower the risk of diabetes and heart disease, according to the Mayo Clinic.

That’s not how we rolled in my family. If you wanted a car, you had to get a job.

Problem was, I was one of those crazy extracurricular kids who had an activity or meeting or practice every day after school, and on weekends I was writing, reading, doing homework and research projects, applying to colleges and, let’s be honest, sleeping in.

Manners Matter: How to avoid a playground potty mouth

It’s wonderful to ditch winter coats and head outside to play. My favorite thing about York County is the many parks and wonderful playgrounds located here.
