Smart Sponsor: Lebo Skin Care Center on permanent makeup

It irks me in movies and TV shows when actresses wake up looking beautiful and made up after a long night’s sleep. Who goes to bed with makeup on their face? Growing up, my mom taught me the importance of washing your face before bedtime and never going to bed with a full face of makeup.

Thanks to something called micropigmentation or permanent makeup, those staged scenes from TV and movies can be a reality. Permanent makeup is simply this – a form of tattooing that uses specially formulated pigments for the face to create a long lasting makeup look for eyebrows, eyeliner and lip color. Imagine a world where your makeup doesn’t smudge, smear or rub off.

The experience can be likened to electrolysis or tweezing. A topical anesthetic is used for the patient’s comfort. Despite the word “tattooing”, permanent makeup causes little trauma to your skin, with the exception of lips that may experience swelling. Often, patients can return to work in the same day.

The perfect eyebrows, eyeliner and lip color lasts 1 to 5 years, depending on the depth of the pigment, skin type and proper post care. To learn more about permanent makeup and how it could work for you, contact the licensed medical estheticians at Lebo Skin Care Center for a free consultation.

  1. I’ve always wanted to have nicer eyebrows. How much does this treatment cost? Also, is it blended in with your existing eyebrow? Do you still have to pluck your brows? Can I get “an arch” via the treatment even if one does not currently exist? Would love to have answers to these questions. Thanks so much!

From Lebo Skin Care Center: The cost to have the eyebrows done is $500. The color is blended in with your existing eyebrow so it looks very natural. Because the color is actually tattooed into the skin, it does not affect the brow hair, which means you still have to tweeze. We can definitely give the eyebrow a definitive shape and arch – it really does look great and it shapes the face.
