BB creams also referred to as blemish balms are very popular in Asian countries. I blogged about them about a year ago on my previous blog called Made-up.
The BB creams are becoming increasingly popular here in the U.S. So, if you felt overwhelmed already about choosing a foundation, now throw in the BB creams that are popping up too. What’s a girl to do?
Well, I can tell you some general things about whether a BB cream is even right for you before you buy.
Most of the BB creams that are from over seas are targeted to women with fair to light skin.
If your flaws are minor and your skin is already fairly even a BB cream might be right for you. Keep in mind, BB creams don’t give heavy coverage so it’s not going to hide major skin imperfections.
If you already use a tinted moisturizer a BB cream also might be for you.
On to my review about Maybelline’s Dream Fresh BB
Overall, I really like this BB cream. It gives nice coverage and blends easily into the skin. It feels light weight and didn’t leave me with an oily complexion, something that Garnier’s Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream did. I also like the fact that Maybelline’s version comes in five color tints. I purchased mine in medium.
If you have dark skin, the tint in the deep shade probably is not dark enough for your complexion. I still strongly believe that cosmetic companies need to offer darker shades of foundations in general, but that’s another blog post for another time.
I have oily skin, while this foundation did not excabberate my oily skin, it didn’t stop me from getting oily later in the day. So, I had to do my usual paper blotting.
The price is truly reasonable too at under $8 and that’s without a coupon.
So, if your considering buying a BB cream try Maybelline’s inexpensive version.
Product details from Maybelline website:
• Blurs imperfections
• Evens skin tone
• Protects with SPF 30
• 0% oils and heavy ingredients
My only real complaint was when I got home and went to open the tube, it had already been open. So make sure before you leave the store that your foundation hasn’t been opened.
