I successfully baked something this week! Hooray for me!
Most of the time, if not maybe every time but this time, my baking projects flop. Ask my family and they will still tell you about the time I dubbed my failed chocolate layer cake attempt a “chocolate mountain of happiness” because it resembled something you would just throw in the trash. It just happened to taste delicious.
So I don’t do pretty. Pretty food, that is.
It just doesn’t happen for me.
In an effort to provide more baking recipes on the blog AND to make sure Will’s college student brother doesn’t think we forgot about him, I decided to put on my baker’s hat and go to town.
I could feel the stress levels rising even before I started. The dishes needed washed. Then put away so I had counter space. Then I had to get out the mixer. Wipe it off. Plug it in. Where do I keep the flour, anyway?
I kept telling myself, as my boyfriend Will tells me to do, that it’s really not that bad. This is fun, for some people.
So I let it be fun. And it turned out to be DELICIOUS!
