This summer, folks mused about whether women’s newfound love of “Fifty Shades of Grey” — and their spiced-up love lives — might cause a baby boom. I haven’t seen any stats on it, but it looks like the erotic trilogy has influenced moms (and moms-to-be) in a new way: Baby names.
Now, I’m not sure what the thought process is behind naming your child after a character in an erotic trilogy — but it’s happening.
BabyCenter, a parenting and pregnancy website, released the top 100 baby names for 2012. Traditional favorites like Emma and Jacob still made the top 10, but names Grey, Gray, Anastasia and Ana all made significant jumps.
