Go Green in the City accepting vendors and artwork

Central York High School student Samantha Zunic created the winning poster design for 2012.

It might be the winter, when nothing grows or is the shade of green. However, Downtown Inc is thinking spring.

Go Green in the City outdoor event is set for Saturday, April 20, and the organization is looking for local artisans, green-conscious businesses, nonprofits, and food and market vendors.

According to a news release, “nearly 1,000 people are expected to attend this fun, family-friendly festival, celebrating green living and promoting local.” The deadline for vendors is March 29.

Also, Downtown Inc is promoting its annual Go Green in the City Artwork Competition. It is asking students in York County schools and colleges to create and submit creations. One chosen artist’s work will be used online and in posters, flyers and other promotional materials for the festival. The winner also will receive $100.

The competition ends Feb. 22.
