Outfits work best with complementary accessories. The problem is (if you are like me), once you’ve bought the outfit, you don’t have much money to spend on the extras: Earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces.
Not to worry, I’ve made a list of sparkly finds that cost less than $50:
Earrings: For some classic, round studs with an edge, go for House of Harlow 1960 Stingray Embossed Sunburst Stud Earrings, $30 at Bloomingdales. For something that has a pop of color to match a whimsical look, check out MARC BY MARC JACOBS Bird Stud Earrings, $48. For elegant gold drops, look at the Lauren Ralph Lauren Long Linear Drop Earrings, $38. If you want something more interesting than the average pearls, try the ‘Santorini’ Small Stud Earrings, $18 at Nordstrom.
Rings: Don’t go for one, get a few with Madewell’s Mix and Mingle Rings, $28. They are fun, sparkly and colorful — with class.
Bracelets: Geometric designs bring a little something extra to any outfit, which is why I like the Cara Pyramid Stretch Bracelet, $38 at Nordstrom. Casual outfits go the extra mile with an accessory like the Cara Leather Bracelet, $38 at Nordstrom. It comes in black, white and brown.
Necklaces: If you want a statement necklace with a lot of color, go for the Ton-Sur-Ton Beaded Bib, $48 at Anthropologie. It comes in blue and yellow and has the power to brighten a bland outfit instantly. For something you can wear to the office or with a T-shirt, reach for Madewell’s Acorn Locket Necklace, $35. If you gravitate toward bohemian looks, the Fringe and Faceted Jewel Necklace by Tinley Road, $36 at Piperlime, might be a good pick. It’s a jewel necklace with a metal fringe. For a chunky, metal look, look at Hive and Honey’s Knotted Chain and Spike Torsade Necklace, $42 on Piperlime.
