Grab some girlfriends and head downtown in York this weekend for First Friday. From 5 to 9 p.m. March 1, merchants will be offering special discounts, entertainment and events.
Highlights for March include the Spring Forward “Fashion Meets Art” Fashion Show at 6 p.m. at Marketview Arts, 37 W. Philadelphia St., where The Parliament will bring together community members, artists and downtown merchants; and live music by Kirk Reese, Steve Meashey and Jeff Stabley from 5 to 7 p.m. for Jazz in the City at the Strand-Capitol’s studio, 50 N. George St.
Shops along West Market Street are also offering a series of “West End Girls” specials, ranging from Pretty in Pink Drink specials at Sam and Tony’s Italian Restaurant, 243 W. Market St., to The York Emporium’s extensive collection of women authors at 342 W. Market St.
