Calling all craft beer enthusiasts: It’s time to hit the trail.

The Susquehanna Ale Trail will host its Passport Event beginning next weekend.

Now in its second year, the event has doubled in size since last spring to include 13 breweries and one distillery in York, Lancaster, Dauphin and Franklin counties.

“The Susquehanna Ale Trail gives visitors a chance to go behind the scenes to meet brewmasters, ask questions, taste new craft beers and enjoy the experience with other enthusiasts,” Anne Druck, president of the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau said in a release.

The Passport Event will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays, 12 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 12 to 4 p.m. Sundays April 12-14 and 19-21.

For a full list of participating locations, check out the Passport Event website.

Passport holders will get brewery tours, three to five craft beer tastings, a 10 percent discount on merchandise and an Ale Trail mug.

Passports are $15 and available online or at participating establishments. Designated driver passports are also available for $5.

Well, I love Spring House Brewery, Round Guys, Tröegs, and, St. Boniface, and Stoudts….

My decision would have to be Spring House. They just brew some fantastic and creative items. Tröegs is great when their scratch batches are kicking. St. Boniface is a solid brewery that knows how to brew. Stoudts makes some great brews as well. Round Guys has some terrific stuff as well. However, I love Spring House from their Big Gruesome, Braaaaaaiinns (best pumpkin style I’ve ever had!), Smoke Porter, Seven Gates, etc..
