We received a note from “These Colors Don’t Run” fashion benefit coordinator Nikke Shanabrough this week with great news: The event held April 6 at Historic Shady Lane raised more than $6,000 for Keystone Wounded Warriors.

Organizers had sold 200 tickets in advance, but accepted another 75 or so at the door.

“More people kept coming to the door, so we just kept selling,” Shanabrough said.

In addition to celebrity designers and musical entertainment, the event included a visual presentation of the military members in the tri-state area who have lost their lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

“The crowd was in tears,” Shanabrough said. “Everyone was just in awe of the event.”

On April 20, Shanabrough will meet with some of the Keystone Wounded Warriors organizers and the veterans they assist as she delivers the check in a presentation at Hershey Park.

Will it be a repeat event? “Absolutely,” Shanabrough said. “Everyone has been asking us to please keep doing this.”

    Hi there Sarah:

It looks like Nikki is getting geared up for another round and the second annual These Colors don’t Run Benefit will be held March 29, 2014 at the Valencia Ballroom in York.

I’m hopping it will be a successful event.

    Thank you fr sharing,
