Robert Godfrey is ready for warm weather.

The Spring Garden Township resident is hard at work planning tasks, obstacles and activities for the third annual Anna’s Amazing Race.

But this cystic fibrosis fundraiser isn’t your normal charity walk.

In past years, participants kicked large beach balls up Reservoir Hill, decorated cupcakes while blindfolded, sang karaoke and added up all the items on the menu at Marcello’s Pizza in the West Manchester Mall.

Godfrey and his team hope to send dozens on a road race throughout York in the name of Anna Becket. The toddler, who is the daughter of York natives Kate and Alexander Becket, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis shortly after she was born.

Kate Becket said the group chose The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to benefit from the thousands of dollars they raise through Anna’s Amazing Race each year because 90 cents of each dollar goes right to research.
